Here's the start... Tank, side covers and seat removed...

And a big empty hole was formed after removing the mounts, the oil sump and filter housing, wiring, and the carbs. Don't try lifting out alone, as the motor is by no means light.

And here's the engine out and on the table. It sits pretty well on it's own, just make sure you have a soft surface as the sump gasket surface is what she sits on. Needs a lot of cleaning up, and will be getting a repaint, as well as a cam chain fix (I'll talk about that later) and a couple of new covers.

Here's the naked frame and my work area. The frame will stay as it is for a couple of weeks while I get everything ready on the engine to be painted as well as all the little parts cleaned up and sorted. Then I'll come back and tear it down and send the frame and other black parts off to the powder coaters, chrome off to the chromers, and the rest of the stuff to get cleaned up and ready for re-assembly.

Here's a pickup truck full of stuff to go home with me to get cleaned up and sorted out. I went through a box of baggies while dis-assembling everything to keep it all sorted, and I wish I had more. (Make sure you get the kind you can write on.) This was one days work. It's not too difficult to tackle, and a lot of fun.
