My Woodworking Projects

Here's a picture of one of the two nightstands I made to match my dresser. It's white pine with a red Mahogany stain. Frame and panel construction. I'm debating re-doing the drawers and dovetailing them (when I get a dovetailer.)

Here's a bookcase I built to store a variety of stuff. Might have to build a second the way this is looking. It will eventually be stained and finished to match the nightstands and dresser, but I haven't had the time.

I made the chess pieces while down in GA. The chess pieces were turned on a lathe with a duplicator and are made from Mahogany and Basswood. The knights were turned to rough shape, then carved with a dremel tool and hand tools. The othello pieces and checkers were rough cut on a band saw then sanded to final shape. The crowns were drawn with a laser engraver.

The board has a Mahogany frame, but the squares are pieces of wood wrapped with suede pigskin leather resulting in a soft, quiet playing surface. I will eventually build a table with drawers to hold the board, chairs, and probably a backgammon board that can replace the chess board.

Here's a dresser I built out in Ohio made from white pine with a red mahogany stain.

I had access to a dovetailer and plan on purchasing one before too long.
