The Canoe - Page 9

Stern view... Both gunwales temporarily installed. The scuppers (block separating the inner gunwale from the hull were cut with a forstner bit on the drill press. The bottoms are already have an 1/8" roundover. The tops will get the same. The screw holes will have a 1" wide by 17 foot strip of walnut covering them, the the outer edge will get a 1/8" roundover also.

The bow deck is set in place and the gunwales temporarily mounted. The gunwales will be epoxy sealed before permanently mounting them. There will be a verticle former placed from the inside of the hull to the bottom of the deck. The stern will get the same, but with a dry storage area with a 1/4 turn cap.

The same view I've been showing throughout... I applied for my hull ID number (HIN#) about a month ago. Supposedly the state (IL) sends an inspector out to ensure that homebuilt boats are that. I guess there is a rash of salvages that people try to register as homebuilt.
